Summer Reading sponsors
Summer Reading is our library's most popular literacy program - and is Oregon's largest reading program for children. It's also a great example of the impact made by private donations. In 1997, when The Library Foundation began providing private support to Summer Reading, less than 5,300 children participated. Now more than 100,000 children participate each year. The visionaries who created Summer Reading would be proud, and perhaps amazed, at all we've accomplished with your help.
Summer Reading is supported by gifts to The Library Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to our library's leadership, innovation and reach through private support.
