The Library Foundation supports a wide range of programs, services, collections and buildings of Multnomah County Library.
Program funding extends the Library’s services
into the community, with a strong focus on
expanding the Library’s reach to babies and children who
are vulnerable to assure literacy and early learning skills.
Collection funds support the acquisition of books and materials
for our world-class public library, including the purchase and preservation
of rare and treasured collections that distinctively suit the mission
of our Library and its dynamic role in the state, region and nation.
Building funds support building treatments and the remodeling of neighborhood
libraries, providing places for people to access knowledge
and celebrate community.
Branch funds support programs, collections and building enhancements in neighborhood branches and at Central.
Projects we have made possible or supported since our founding in 1995:
Programs such as Summer Reading, Raising a Reader, Every Family Reads, Everybody Reads, Children's Author Lecture Series, Tapestry of Tales, Read to the Dogs, Reach Out & Read, Early Words, Teen Read Month and Author Lecture, Teen Councils and Lounges, New Parent Early Literacy Packages, Writer's Fair, Collin's Gallery Exhibits, humanities programs and art programs.
