Multnomah County Library earns 'five star' rating on national index

The accolades keep coming for the Multnomah County Library.
After earning recognition as one of the nation’s busiest library systems and scoring a major competitive grant this fall, the library system this week was named one of only a handful nationwide to earn a “five star” rating from the Library Journal.
The industry publication publishes an annual index of public library programs across the U.S. Only 258 of the nation’s nearly 9,000 public library systems managed to earn three stars or more. Among large libraries with budgets of more than $30 million, only five earned the highest rating.
