Campaign wins national communications award

February 2, 2009- Multnomah County Library and The Library Foundation have received the prestigious John Cotton Dana Award for their work together on The Campaign for a Lifetime of Literacy. The award, sponsored by H.W. Wilson, recognizes excellence in strategic communications for libraries across the country. The Library Foundation's campaign heightened visibility for Multnomah County Library's leadership and innovation and raised nearly $12 million to support the library's work in child and family literacy.

Award nominations were evaluated on the strength of their planning, implementation and evaluation. The award ceremony will take place in July in Chicago.
